Range of Finishes
There are 3 common finishes for teak furnishings, natural (unfinished), sealed and pre-weathered. Natural and sealed tend to be golden-brown in colour while pre-weathered will look silvery grey in colour. All are beautiful and contribute to the high-end landscaping feel.
Oiling Teak
Oiling teak is used as a preservative to help maintain its colour. It is advised to use the oil twice a year to prevent colour fade and weathering. Oiling teak also gives the wood a beautiful glow, distinct to teak wood furniture.
Cleaning
Teak should be cleaned once a year with a mild, diluted household cleaner and a soft bristle brush. For intense stains, mild sanding will remove the stain.
